A customer presented a considerable engineering project to Clark Machine, they required the construction of six replacement span sections for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This project exemplifies Clark Machine’s outstanding ability to cope with the challenges posed with physically large construction projects.

Clark employed a series of fabrication processes to create the new spans. Drilling, CNC plasma cutting, press brake forming, welding, and grinding formed the main set of production procedures, along with galvanization and assembly. ASTM A615 Grade 60 Steel, ASTM A709 Grade 36 Structural Steel Plate, and ASTM A709 Grade 50 Structural Steel and A325N Hardware were selected as the construction materials. Certified weld inspectors and a dedicated project manager ensured progress and quality control in line with the customer’s timeline.
